About Me

I am a fourth-year Architectural Conservation and Sustainability Engineering student at Carleton University, set to graduate in April 2026. Through my degree, I have developed the skills to evaluate existing buildings (including those with heritage designations) by performing structural analyses to ensure safety, while also rehabilitating them for new uses that respect their historical value and comply with applicable designation requirements. I have also gained experience designing new buildings, producing safe, code-compliant structural designs alongside sustainable and effective building performance strategies using both active and passive systems.

I’ve been drawn to engineering and architecture for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I spent hours building with LEGO, turning all my ideas into physical forms, and later found myself naturally excelling in math and science. Over time, these interests pointed me toward a career that combined both technical problem-solving and design. I was fortunate to find a program that brings those disciplines together while also emphasizing sustainability and minimizing environmental impact, an approach to the built environment that I find both important and genuinely exciting.

Outside of my academic work, I have been involved in several Carleton University initiatives. During the 2024–2025 academic year, I was a member of the Carleton Powerlifting Team and supported team initiatives, including participating in a Movember charity competition against the University of Ottawa. I also served as a PMC volunteer notetaker during the Winter 2025 semester, uploading weekly handwritten lecture notes to support fellow students.

Throughout my life, I’ve maintained a strong focus on physical fitness and athletics. Growing up, I participated in a range of sports including soccer, gymnastics, triathlons, hockey, and most notably swimming. I was a competitive swimmer for over seven years, competing for both my city’s team and my high school, and ranked within the top 25 swimmers in Canada for a specific event in my age group. After stepping away from competitive swimming, I wanted to remain active and began strength training, which I’ve maintained consistently for over five years. This led to my first bodybuilding competition in the summer of 2024, where I placed second in my class, and later to joining the Carleton Powerlifting Team. I’ve always enjoyed challenging myself and setting difficult goals to work toward, and sports provided an early outlet for that mindset. I’ve carried the same discipline and drive into my academics at Carleton, consistently pushing myself to pursue goals that once felt out of reach.

Following graduation, I plan to further develop my skills through real-world projects while working toward my Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) designation. I am motivated by the opportunity to contribute meaningful, lasting work and to see the impact of my designs within the communities they serve.
